Good news for those of us who spend the wee hours of our Saturday mornings sobbing, glass of wine in hand, as we drunkenly email ex-boyfriends, absent fathers, and friends who have wronged us.
Google has now developed a Gmail filter for those dreaded Drunk E-Mails.
This new application, called “Mail Goggles,” claims to prevent intoxicated users from sending embarrassing emails by requiring them to do math problems. The feature’s developers believe that those of us who are sober enough to complete a series of basic math problems also still have enough judgment intact to decide whether our boss really needs to know that she’s overdue for an upper lip waxing.
Mail Goggles, which activates automatically during weekend nights between 10 PM and 4 AM, allows users to send e-mails only after completing five math problems within 60 seconds. One can also set the application to different dates and times, for those of us who prefer not to limit our fun to Friday and Saturday.
Of course, please enjoy your beverages responsibly. After all, there’s still the Drunk Text Message, the Drunk Facebook Message, and the still-popular, old-fashioned, good ol’ Drunk Dial.
Best,
Anne Medlin, Marketing Director
